Gay Dads Group for Monmouth
and Ocean Counties
The United Methodist Church of Red Bank - Room 114
247 Broad Street
Red Bank, New Jersey 07701
(732) 747-0446
This group meets monthly. It is a forum for gay dads and their children to meet, form friendships and lend support for each other in the community. We will also be sharing resources of gay parent friendly services and resources. The group is also open to any gay single or coupled men interested in discussing all the possibilities of becoming parents.
Refreshments will be served and there will be arts and crafts for children ages 2 - 12. The first meeting will be to get to know each other and decide as a group how we would like to move forward. We will be asking individuals to host future meetings on a monthly basis in order to add variety and interest for both the Dads and their children.
For directions visit www.umcredbank.org. Interested Dads are kindly asked to RSVP at www. meetup.com " Gay Dads of Monmouth and Ocean Counties".
Youth Initiative Teenager's Meetings
Second Monday of the month, 7-9pm
Community Health Center
1301 Main Street
Asbury Park, NJ
All GLTIQ kids 13 - 19 are welcome as are their parents and supportive friends. There will be food, games, music and discussion of what the kids want the group be. What kinds of activities they want, how they can get the word out to other kids and more. There will be a contest held among them to name their group.
My QSpace a new “recreational club’ for GLBTI& Questioning teenagers is now meeting every 2ND Monday evening from 7-9pm at the new VNA Community Health Center. The teenagers are planning their own fun and activities, including chatting, and sharing information, listening to music or playing different types of games. It is a place to “hang out” for just them and we believe it is the 1st of its kind in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. It is supervised by parents, QSpot volunteers, local educators and the Asbury Park Police are notified that teenagers are there. We think the QSpot community can play a role in helping to ‘get the word out’ to their own families, friends and neighbors who may welcome knowing about the youth group.
This will be a safe and supervised place for kids to interact with other kids who share their concerns. www.jsqspot.org for more information.
